"Thank you again for coming to speak to our cross country girls! I was so impressed with how you shared the information in a way that was easy to understand, and how you touched on somewhat difficult but important topics I think all high school female athletes should hear. Your message was clear, your heart was in it, and you were willing to answer any and all questions. Our girls (and parents) were thankful to learn so much from you! I will definitely be recommending you to other coaches in the area. This is a must-have presentation for athletes."
-Rachel Steil, Head Coach, Women's Cross Country, Grandville High School
"I reached out to Kate because we wanted our team to understand the importance of nutrition, not only so they can be better athletes, but so they can understand how it impacts them outside of sports. Kate's presentation was spot on. She was engaging, relatable and packed a ton of useful information into our session. I would strongly recommend Kate to any athletic program that wants to give their student-athletes another building block towards life long success."
-Dawn Fedew, Head Coach, Men's and Women's Track and Field, St. Patrick's High School
"Thank you for the incredible impact you’ve had on our baseball team. We could not have done what we did last season without your love and guidance. You have helped us so much on those bus trips, including the 996 mile trip to Oklahoma. The snack boxes, the lifelong lessons about diet that everyone in our program is able to take away. You are special, and we are so happy to have you on board for our journey to becoming better in all that we do.”
-Coach Steven Cutter, Head Coach for Lansing Community College Baseball
"Thank you so much Coach Kate! When I was first approached by my assistant coach to add a nutritionist to our Cross Country program I was reluctant. I had no way of insuring there would be a transition of the information from Kate to the parents and the athletes. Boy, was I wrong! Parents and athletes alike really enjoyed the presentation and keep coming back with more questions. The parents who provide our after workout snacks are using the information that Kate provided while shopping and the athletes are eating and drinking what the parents provide. The athletes are drinking more water and are hydrating with sports drinks more often. Coach Kate made a second visit just prior to our first meet and hit a home run. The entire team was in attendance and each were given a handout which included a pre-race day menu and a pre race menu. At practice the runners still have that handout and I hear them discussing with teammates which granola bar the like and how long they eat it before the race. The information is contagious and in a very good way."
-Allan Warden, Head Coach, Cross country, Goodrich High School
*The girls team went on to win the D2 2024 Cross Country State Championships!
"Coach Kate is the ‘go to’ person for sports nutrition. When I asked her, “In what ways can our girls’ basketball teams utilize great nutrition to become the best version of themselves both on and off the court?" She exclaimed, “That’s what I do!” Kate’s presentation to our varsity and junior varsity teams and their families covered exactly what we needed to learn. Her focus on game day fueling, including pre-game fueling was very insightful. Also, knowing what foods to avoid on game day increases the probability our game experience will be successful. We found Kate’s balanced, common sense approach to nutrition and hydration appealing. Kate’s sports nutrition knowledge is the winning edge our team was seeking."
-Coach Hawk, Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball, Haslett High School
"My name is Russ Reitz and you gave a talk to my cross country athletes in Lapeer this past fall. I am proud to announce that it was a huge success. The athletes ran better this past season and we had no issues with kids falling down / almost passing out at the end of their races. I attribute that to the information that you shared with them....P.S. My men's league hockey team has started to eat pretzels before we play and people have mentioned how much better they feel. Such a simple way to get the proper fuel!"
-Russel Reitz, Head Coach, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Lapeer High School
“Coach Kate provided an in depth, honest discussion about transitioning to college for our new student-athletes. Kate took the time to investigate our campus dining options and provided many options for an athlete to utilize in all event areas. With the nutrition plan, she was able to outline the needs of a heavy training period to the championship phase to the off-season. The approach was proactive and realistic for a full time student-athlete.”
